As of 11:00 AM this morning, the Charge Up New Jersey electric vehicle incentive program has reopened.
To be eligible to participate in Charge Up New Jersey, dealerships must enroll through the dealership portal.
If you are not already enrolled, select a primary dealership contact andREGISTER YOUR DEALERSHIP HERE!
Previously enrolled dealerships are strongly encouraged to log in to the dealer portal AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to verify their account access and make sure their account is up-to-date and ready to process incentive applications.
Participating dealerships are encouraged to pay particular attention to:
- Verifying dealership contact information is correct
- Verifying ACH financial information for direct wire transfers is correct
- Verifying all eligible vehicles (particularly new model years) for your brand(s) are listed. If they are not, the OEM must complete a form with the Board of Public Utilities (BPU) to get the newest models added to the list of eligible vehicles.
What’s New For Year 4 of the Charge Up New Jersey Program?
- MSRP at the time of order and the time of the purchase or lease transaction must be the same to receive an incentive.
- Incentive tiers are:
- Up to $4,000 for vehicles with an MSRP below $45,000
- Up to $1,500 for vehicles with an MSRP between $45,001 – $55,000
- If the Program Administrator announces that the program will close, due to expending of all available funds, there will NOT be an opportunity to reserve funds for orders made outside the normal 14-day window.
- If a dealership or showroom elects not to reserve funding at the time of the vehicle order, they must notify the customer in writing that, while eligible for the Charge Up New Jersey incentive, no funds shall be reserved until the purchase or lease transaction is complete– at which time funding may not be available. Dealers may use the Deferment of Reserved Funding form to satisfy this requirement.
NOTE: Applications for vehicles ordered, purchased or leased after the FY 2023 closure date of April 17, 2023, and before the relaunch date of July 12, 2023, will be denied.
