NJ CAR has recently been made aware of yet another internet service-related scam, detailed below. A Simi Valley, California-based company called Depot System has sent $149.95 invoices to several dealers for a “Web Site” and encourages them to “pay upon receipt for continued service.”The invoice is addressed to the dealership and has an Account number. NJ CAR recommends utilizing purchase order numbers for any product or service ordered from your facility. That way, every incoming invoice can be matched up with a purchase order number to ensure the validity of the requested payment.
