NJ CAR has teamed up with the Hope For The Warriors Organization to create the first annual New Jersey Auto Retailers’ Run For The Warriors. This 5K run, 1-mile walk and children’s 50-yard dash will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the NewJersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial in Holmdel (Exit 116 off the Garden State Parkway). By now, all dealers should have received a mailing from NJ CAR President Jim Appleton detailing the four levels of sponsorship (beginning as low as $2,500) available to dealers interested in supporting this worthwhile event. Hope For The Warriors was founded in 2006 by a group of dedicated military wives to enhance the quality of life for post-9/11 service members, their families and families of the fallen, who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty. Hope For The Warriors offers a variety of programs that address Transition to Civilian Life, Education, Employment, Financial Assistance, Health and Wellness, Outreach and Community Awareness. The organization has been recognized as a “Best In America” organization by the Independent Charities of America and is accredited by the Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving Alliance.
