Higher Demand Expected To Boost Retail Automotive Sales

Dec 14, 2012

According to economists surveyed by Bloomberg News, the start of the holiday shopping season in November, as well as an increase in demand for automobiles following Hurricane Sandy, led to a bump in November automotive sales, after a small decline in October 2012.Reuters recently reported that the industry was on track to possibly top the 15 million vehicles sold in 2012, as November sales hit their highest level in more than four years. If sales break the 15 million threshold, it will be a nearly 11% increase over 2011 sales, according to Jefferies & Co., a global securities firm.
