It is with deep sadness and a sense of loss that we report the passing of Charles F. (“Charlie”) Kitson. Charlie was Chairman of NJ CAR in 1985, and served on the Coalition’s Executive Committee from 1982 until 1987.
Prior to serving on the Executive Committee, he represented Monmouth County dealers as a Trustee on NJ CAR’s Board of Trustees. He was the owner and President of Kitson Chevrolet in Eatontown, New Jersey.
Charlie was born in Jersey City and served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Sergeant Major. He was also a Director of Shadow Lawn Savings & Loan, President of the Eatontown Chamber of Commerce and a member of the CBA Founders Club.
Charlie was predeceased by his wife Mildred and his son, Brother Charles Kitson, FSC. Charles is survived by his daughter, Mildred and her husband William; his grandchildren Suzanne and her husband Len, Joseph and his wife Kim, Carrie and her husband Mike, and John and his wife Cathy, as well as eight great grandchildren: Stephen, Sean, Timmy, Joey, Ally, Katie, Michael and Matthew.
