James V. Tino, Jr. Assumes NJ CAR Chairmanship

Union County auto retailer James V. Tino, Jr. assumed the NJ CAR Chairmanship, effective November 1, 2004.He succeeds Edward J. Barlow, Jr.Jim is a 20-year veteran of the retail automotive industry in New Jersey and joined the NJ CAR Executive Committee in 2001 as Regional Vice President of Northern Region I.He has since served in the positions of Treasurer, Secretary and Vice Chairman. Jim is the principal of Multi Chevrolet and Saturn of Union in Union, NJ, and Saturn of Green Brook in Green Brook, NJ.He has previously served as the Northeast Representative to the Saturn Regional Marketing Council, as well as the GMAC Advisory Board. At the NJ CAR Annual Meeting & Business Expo 2004, Jim discussed the challenges the Coalition will likely face in the year ahead.A transcript of Jim’s Annual Meeting comments is attached to this issue of the NewsLetter. Jim graduated from Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1986 and entered the automotive retail business the same year.He lives in Mendham, NJ, with his wife Juliann and daughters Caroline, Grace and Ava. Also named as officers for the 2004-2005 association year are: Vice Chairman Richard A. DeSilva (Liberty Subaru, Oradell), Secretary Robert L. DeFelice (Circle Chevrolet Company, Shrewsbury), and Treasurer Eric Nielsen (Dover Chrysler, Randolph).
