Jul 03, 2019

Thousands of Electric Vehicles (EVs) will be finding their way onto the nation’s roadways in the next few months (including many New Jersey towns). The Climate Mayors Electric Vehicle Purchasing Collaborative recently announced that 127 cities and towns in 38 states have committed to buying more than 2,100 EV’s by the end of the year.

The Collaborative works to remove barriers to electrification, including high upfront costs. The Collaborative provides technical support for cities and towns and offers a platform with competitive EV and charging infrastructure prices.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has informed NJ CAR that the following New Jersey towns are part of the Collaborative:

•Cape May Point•Cherry Hill•East Brunswick•Fanwood•Glen Rock•Highland Park•Hoboken•Jersey City•Long Branch•Marlboro•Morristown•North Brunswick•Piscataway•Plainsboro•Princeton•Secaucus•South Orange•Swedesboro•Trenton•Union City•Verona•West New York

If your dealership offers EV product and is located in one of these towns, NJ CAR encourages you to contact the municipality’s business administrator or purchasing department to learn more about their plans to boost EV adoption.
