NJ CAR And ECM Offer Mandatory OSHA Safety Training Webinar On September 23, 2013

NJ CAR and Environmental Compliance Monitoring (ECM) have developed a Webinar that satisfies an important mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Training requirement, while minimizing the impact on your day-to-day operations. The Webinar will be held from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Monday, September23, 2013. The training is required of ALL employees who handle hazardous materials.The Webinar will address the following:Hazard Communication Training. A written Hazard Communication Program and training of employees in usage of hazardous chemicals at the facility is required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA; 29 CFR 1910.1200).Training will be provided to employees in safe usage of hazardous chemicals, and will include training in the newly adopted Global Harmonization Standard (GHS), which is required for all employees working with hazardous chemicals by December 1, 2013. Employers are also required to maintain documentation relative to the training.Fire Extinguisher Training. Training of employees who are designated to use fire extinguishers is required by OSHA (29 CFR 1910.157) to familiarize these employees with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage fire-fighting. Employers are also required to maintain documentation relative to this training.This critical safety training costs only $79 per person for NJ CAR dealer members. Simply complete the Registration Form attached to this NewsLetter, providing each technician’s name and e-mail address, and return it with payment to NJ CAR.Each registrant will receive an e-mail directly from GoToWebinar that will explain how to log on and call-in to the Webinar on September 23, 2013. There are also two short quizzes all attendees must complete and return to ECM in order to receive their certification that indicates they completed the required training. Only those registrants who attend the Webinar and return the completed quizzes will be certified.
