NJ CAR Helps NJ DEP With Clean Water Campaign

Sep 27, 2006

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJ DEP) adopted new rules in 2004 to reduce polluted storm water runoff, which threatens the State’s water quality.

NJCAR is helping the NJ DEP spread its message by providing all dealerships with a poster that promotes car maintenance and its importance in keeping the State’s waterways clean. The image on the poster is that of a car driving along a beach at sunset. The accompanying text says “When your car’s leaking oil on the street, remember it’s not just leaking oil on the street.” The NJ DEP is asking dealers to display the poster in an area accessible to the public.

The posters are one facet of the NJ DEP’s Clean Water Campaign. The poster should be arriving at dealerships within a week. For additional posters or more information, call the Bureau of Nonpoint Pollution Control at 609.633.7021.
