NJ CAR has partnered with the American Red Cross of Central New Jersey, the Trenton School District and former Philadelphia Eagle great and Trenton-native Troy Vincent to offer first aid and CPR training programs at all grade levels in the Trenton school district. Educating people in the appropriate skills to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies is vital to making communities safer. NJ CAR’s Charles E. Walton Charitable Foundation has already committed $15,000 to the effort. The Red Cross is also looking for local dealerships to lend a hand and contribute another $30,000 to fully fund the initiative. Former Eagle defenseman Troy Vincent has agreed to lend his name and has committed to appear at a June 22, 2004 press event with all participating dealerships. The Red Cross offers courses aimed at both students (K-12) and school staff. Some of the courses offered include First Aid for Children, Basic Aid Training, Preventing Disease Transmission, a First Aid/CPR/ AED program and many other safety and care programs. Automotive dealers are valuable and vital members of their community and regularly support efforts that benefit their neighbors and customers.Trenton-area dealers who are interested in assisting with this important educational program, may contact Jim Appleton at 609.883.5056, ext. 330.
