Jul 30, 2019

High temperatures and humidity can stress the body’s ability to cool itself, making heat exhaustion a concern during hot weather. Symptoms of exhaustion include cramps, fainting, dizziness and disorientation. Heat exhaustion is preventable with these tips!

Condition yourself for working in hot weather. Start slowly then build up to more physical work over a few days.

Drink plenty of water. Hydration is a continuous process. Don’t wait until you’re overly thirsty to hydrate!

Use ventilation. Open windows and doors use fans where it’s safe. Make sure fans and electrical cords are in good working order. Keep fans away from wet areas.

Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing when working in the sun.

Use sunscreen SPF 50+ to protect your skin.
