Remember, throughout a test drive, both the vehicle and route are unfamiliar to the customer. Below are several tips to ensure every test drive is as safe as possible for your customers and your employees:
•Before the test drive, familiarize the customer with the route, and go over as many features of the vehicle as possible.
•Use routes established by the dealership.
•Make attempts to start and end the test drive away from pedestrian traffic. If there are areas designated by the dealership, use them.
•Guide the customer throughout the test drive. Be a second set of eyes, if needed!
