NJ CAR Wishes Everyone A Happy Holiday And Great 2012!!!

Dec 28, 2011

The NJCAR Executive Committee, Trustees and Staff want to take this opportunity to extend our warmest greetings to all members. The retail automotive industry began the turn toward recovery in 2011 after suffering through one of its toughest stretches in a generation. It wasn’t all smiles and roses, however, as Mother Nature (in the form of earthquakes, tsunamis and harsh winter weather) played a role in shutting down production of many vehicles for several months this year. While sales were up from last year, even with these catastrophic obstacles, imagine what they might have been if those months weren’t lost. All indications point to a continued turnaround in 2012 as the industry adapts to fewer players and consumers with higher expectations when it comes to purchasing a new or used vehicle. NJ CAR appreciates the opportunity to be your advocate in Trenton and in Washington, D.C., and to serve the business needs of your dealership. Let’s hope the retail automotive industry continues to move in a positive direction, the economy continues to recover and unemployment continues to creep down. Pent-up demand for new vehicles should result in increasing traffic in dealership showrooms as the economy continues to improve. One of the great unknowns is how the 2012 Election will impact the economic recovery next year. Here’s hoping both Republicans and Democrats can put country before party and develop solutions that satisfy both sides and help speed up economic and employment growth. The NJ CAR Leadership and Staff will strive to identify and provide products, services and support that address the most urgent challenges facing NewJersey’s retail automotive industry. It has been our privilege to serve members this past year. On behalf of everyone at NJCAR, HappyHolidays!
