NJ MVC Discontinues Passenger Plate Decals

On October 1, 2004, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) will begin phasing out the License Plate Decal Program.Passenger plate decals will no longer be issued with each passenger registration.This change is applicable to all passenger registration codes, whether or not a 4-year accelerated registration applies.According to the information available from the MVC, commercial registrations will continue to receive commercial plate decals, to be affixed to each metal plate on the vehicle.Eventually, plate stickers for commercial vehicles will also be eliminated.
