The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) has recently confirmed that it is taking a minimum of 30 days and, in some cases, as long as 6-8 weeks, to issue new Corp Codes, also known as Entity Identification Numbers (EIN).
It is critical that any dealership selling a vehicle to an out-of-State business (that has never previously bought and registered a vehicle in New Jersey) communicate that the business will need to obtain an EIN and it is currently taking up to 6-8 weeks to process EIN applications.
Please note that failure to complete the application properly or supply additional requested information will delay the review.
