SAAR Hits 15.1 Million- Highest Level Since February 2008

Mar 05, 2012

According to trade press reports, following the sale of 1.15 million light vehicles in February, the seasonally adjusted annual selling rate (SAAR) rose to 15.1 million in February. Total U.S. sales rose 10 percent last year to 12.8 million as the industry continued to recover from the 27-year lows of 2009. In addition to pent-up demand due to an aging fleet, there are several factors driving the optimistic forecast including a rebound in leasing and an increase in the availability of consumer credit and long-term financing.
