Automotive News recently published its latest list of the top 125 U.S. dealership groups and NJCAR is proud to announce that seven NewJersey groups made the list and one, in particular, had the biggest jump on the annual list. The groups are ranked by 2010 unit sales of new vehicles. Open Road Auto Group of Bridgewater saw a 28% jump in new retail unit sales, carrying the group from the 20th spot in 2009 to the 15th spot in the 2010 ranking. According to the report, publicly-owned dealership groups held six of the top 10 spots. The number of groups that sold 10,000 or more new units increased to 47 in 2010 from 42 in 2009. In 2008, 54groups topped 10,000 units, while 77 groups did so in 2007.
