On November 9th, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission announced an updated design for temporary vehicle registration tags (temp tags) beginning November 30, 2021.
These are strictly format changes to font sizes, text location, and information that will be displayed on the temp tag when it is printed.
From the dealership perspective, there are no changes to the process of completing motor vehicle work and producing a temp tag, the temp tag paper itself, or the duration of the temp tag. This notice is simply to make everyone aware of the new design that will go into effect at the end of the month so they aren’t caught by surprise.
