WASCO Goes Almost Fully Solar In Effort To Combat Rising Energy Costs

Aug 04, 2020

Wholesale Auto Supply Co. (WASCO), an automotive supply, equipment and services provider, recently installed a 125-panel rooftop solar energy system that went online July 18, 2020. The system will generate nearly 99% of the electrical needs of the company’s 30,000-square-foot headquarters in South Hackensack.

An independent audit found that WASCO’s solar installation will save the company more than $422,000 in energy costs over the next 30 years, including $9,000 in savings in the first year alone. The company will be helping the environment and boosting its bottom line, which increases what they can return to its shareholders.

WASCO’s switch to renewable energy lets the company serve as a role model for automotive retailers and the wholesale industry and demonstrates that working towards carbon-neutrality is an achievable goal and a smart financial investment.
