According to industry press, the U.S. auto industry had an average 88-day supply of new cars and trucks as of February 1, 2014 up from 64 days on January 1, 2014. By comparison, a 60-day supply is considered optimum. Kelly Blue Book, expects U.S. auto sales of about 1.2 million in February. That works out to a Seasonally Adjusted Annual Rate of about 15.3 million, even with the February 2013 SAAR.
